The Proteus PAR-5500 is the successor of the great PAR-5000 rower. The main difference is the fact that the PAR-5500 is equipped with a computer containing more features than the computer of the PAR-5000. These features include heart rate control and watt control programs. The PAR-5500 can truly be considered a high-quality ergometer.
The construction of the PAR-5500 is based on the design of the PAR-5000 and makes use of both air and magnetic resistance. By combining these 2 resistance systems, you are able to enjoy the feeling of the air resistance and the linear resistance of the magnetic system. It offers a greater maximum resistance and a smoother adjustable resistance.
The ergonomic seat has been attached in a unique way and moves through the underside of the rail. This prevents dust from damaging the construction and makes for a smooth movement on the rowing machine. The footpedals are adjustable in 5 different levels, in order to optimize your position on the rowing machine. The high quality and ergonomic design of the PAR-5500 makes it perfectly suitable for endurance training. During rowing, you can direct the built-in fan towards your body in order to cool you down.
The most important part to pay attention to is the extensive computer of the PAR-5500. The modern computer is equipped with 6 preset, 4 user, 4 heart rate control, and 1 watt control programmes. During the programmes, the computer will automatically increase and decrease the resistance according to the profiles that are displayed on the LCD-display. The 4 USER programmes offer the opportunity to create your very own programme and to store personal data into the computers memory. The 4 heart rate control programmes allow you to exercise within the correct target heart rate zone.
