To assure that each weight is fully and properly selected, the locking mechanism prevents the handle from being removed from the base unit, unless the weight plate is fully engaged. Each weight plate is over-moulded in a thermo plastic material to protect flooring from scratches and avoid any clanking noise. Patent pending locking mechanism assures proper selection and retention of weight plates.
