COVID-19 Business Disruption

UPDATE: 23/3/2020 - All retail stores are closed until further notice. Online orders are unaffected.

UPDATE: 31/3/2020 - Orders placed after March 30th will be delivered within 30 working days (increased timescale does not apply to orders placed prior to this date).

Dear Customer,

Firstly, we would like to thank you for choosing to shop with Fitness Superstore.

Following the nationwide temporary closure of gyms in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, customers are, understandably, putting measures in place to enable them to continue their training from the comfort of their own home. As such, we have seen a level of demand that dwarfs even our peak trading times of Christmas and January.

The sheer volume of orders received has driven all areas of our business to maximum capacity, as our Customer Service, Sales and Warehousing teams work tirelessly to get orders out with as little disruption and delay as possible. However, in this instance delays are unfortunately unavoidable.

We have had to extend our standard delivery time frame to up to 30 working days (for orders placed after March 30th) as we pick, pack and ship a record number of products. In addition, we have had to unfortunately suspend the majority of express delivery options to enable our teams to put all their effort into shipping the orders that are already delayed.

If you have already paid for delivery on a chosen date, and we are not able to deliver on that date, we will of course refund your delivery fee. Please email refunds@fitness-superstore.co.uk and we can process this as soon as possible.

Here are the main points that you should be aware of:

  • Current delivery time frames are up to 30 working days (for orders placed after March 30th)
  • As soon as your order is collected by the courier, you will receive tracking details with further information
  • At this point, we are unable to confirm a delivery/dispatch date. 
  • Fitness Superstore retail stores have temporarily closed due to the UK government restrictions (23/3/2020).
  • All "in home" installation services have now been suspended (24/3/20). 
  • Collection from our Northampton Distribution Centre no longer available (24/3/20).

Drive Through Collection Service (FORCED SUSPENSION)

Due to further COVID-19 government restrictions we have been unfortunately advised by local enforcement (and HSE) that the Northampton "drive through" collection service contravenes current COVID-19 regulations for retail businesses. We have therefore been forced to shut down this service until further notice. NB: To avoid disappointment and wasted journeys we urge customers not to turn up at Northampton distribution centre. Any previously booked collection appointments are being contacted by our customer service team to offer alternatives, including a standard delivery service or refund. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. 

Due to the exceptionally high volume of orders we have regrettably had to apply a £200 minimum order value temporarily to help stem the flow of orders to our Northampton distribution centre, thus allowing the business to meet its standard delivery lead times for our current order list. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

All Stores Now Closed.

Following the COVID-19 government restrictions it is with regret that ALL Fitness Superstore showrooms will close with immediate effect. Once the government ban is lifted, and most importantly safe to open, we will recommence trading at the first available opportunity. We support and endorse the UK government's measures to control the COVID-19 outbreak.

Installation Services Now Suspended

Following the government announcement, our installation services have been suspended until further notice. Customers with outstanding installations will be offered the following options:

1. Convert your order to delivery only (we will refund the installation fee)
2. A full refund – please email refunds@fitness-superstore.co.uk, quoting your order number. NB: Not quoting your order number may materially delay your refunf being processed.
3. Suspend your order until an installation service is made available (12 – 16 weeks based on current government guidelines, but subject to change)

Customers with outstanding installations will be contacted to discuss the above options.
