Bowflex Max Trainer Recognized with Prestigious Red Dot Design Award

24 July 2015

Nautilus Inc. (NYSE: NLS), a world leader in home gym and fitness equipment, has received the 2015 Red Dot Design Award for the design and innovation behind its Bowflex Max Trainer®. It is the second international design title the product has garnered since its launch in 2014. The Bowflex Max Trainer is an all-in-one cardio machine that combines the power of an elliptical and stair stepper to create a one-of-a-kind full body workout that delivers results in 14 minutes.

The Bowflex Max Trainer stood out among 4,928 submissions, capturing the Red Dot Design Award jury’s attention based on several design criteria, including the product’s innovation, functionality, ergonomics and durability. Since it was established in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award ranks among the most renowned design competitions in the world.

Nautilus, Inc. developed a sleek cardio machine that motivates and challenges users through a full-body workout in the comfort of their own home. The Bowflex Max Trainer burns up to 2.5 times the calories of other exercise equipment. Users can track workouts using a free downloadable app for their smartphone, and now have the option to sync their data with the Google Fit and Apple Health platforms.

“The Bowflex Max Trainer is unlike anything else on the market today, and is an example of how our team’s deep expertise and understanding of the fitness industry enabled us to create a cardio machine that integrated technology and design in a product that motivates consumers and gets them results,” said Tom Moran, vice president of product development for Nautilus, Inc. “The Red Dot Award is an incredible demonstration of our focus on creating fitness solutions to help our customers reach their goals.”

Bowflex Max Trainer also took first place in the Outdoor and Exercise Equipment Category of the 2014 International Design Awards (IDA).
