Over the Easter weekend, many of us spend time with family and friends, and soon enough out come the Easter eggs, cakes and buffet spread. Lovely, right? But not so lovely for the waistline. We’re all allowed a treat now and then, but it’s important to know your limits, because we could all easily (and happily) scoff every single chocolate egg in sight if we were given half the chance. Do you really want that? Think about it. If you’re full up, don’t really even like what’s being offered to you or simply feel you ought to stop stuffing your face, do. Eating healthily is controlled entirely by the mind, so at the end of the day, you have complete power over whether you say “yes please” or “no thanks”. Chocolate for breakfast, dessert or all day long? Having chocolate for breakfast is always fun, but you’re setting yourself up for a day of “oh well I’ve already ruined it, so let’s carry on”. Perhaps limit yourself to Easter treats and enjoy them after lunch or after dinner, instead of throughout the whole of Easter Sunday. Is your plate entirely ‘beige’? Buffets are a popular option for a family get together, but try not to opt for everything which is well… beige. Sausage rolls, pork pies, bread, cheese, the list goes on, and whilst they’re delicious, the calories mount up to a tremendous amount within no time at all. Swap some of the ‘beige’ foods for sliced veg and hummus, fruit or cold meats instead, and you’ll be feeling a whole lot better than those around you post-meal. Just because its Easter, doesn’t mean you can’t work out! Fancy eating some guilt-free Easter egg? Earn it! By heading to the gym or popping out for a quick walk or jog is a fantastic way to burn off those Easter treats, and perhaps even make room for a couple more! Stay in control this Easter, because you one hundred percent can! Let us know what you get up to over the weekend in the comments below, or on Twitter or Facebook. Happy Easter from us all at Fitness Superstore! Psst, we’re also at the Ideal Home Show at Olympia London until 3rd April!
