Perhaps you’ve been working towards the same goal for a while now, or you’ve simply already become bored of your relatively new routine. Whatever it is that’s sucking the motivation out of your workouts and healthy eating, it is crucial to find a way past it in order to reach that final hurdle, and here's how... Change what you’re doing It sounds simple enough, but it makes all the difference. Sticking to the same gym routine, or eating the exact same meals day in day out will destroy any ounce of motivation you have. Need a little inspo? Try throwing some cardio interval training into your workouts, trialling new food combinations, and challenging yourself a little more when it comes to weight sessions. Before you know it you’ll be itching to experiment further. Get yourself a buddy Working out alone can often be boring, and can also lead you to taking the easy route and not pushing yourself half as much. With someone there to work alongside, and to maybe even compete with, you’ll consistently feel challenged. Oh, and this also works with food! Share recipe ideas between you and get each other to try new things in order to get the most out of your healthy diet. Prove your point You began this process wanting to prove a point, right? Let’s think about this. Who are you trying to prove it to? A close friend, an ex, or maybe a relative? It’s so important to remember that the only person you need to prove anything to is YOURSELF. Go on, show yourself what you’re made of! Change your end goal Are you feeling fed up of trying to lose those dreaded ten pounds? Forget all about it. Focusing on a number, or worse yet an unrealistic image, will eventually hinder your progress. Instead try to concentrate on a date, an event or a piece of clothing you want to fit into. Shifting the point of focus will allow you to view this process in a whole new light. Remember why you started Most importantly, remind yourself WHY you’re doing this. What is it you don’t like? What is it you’re trying to change? Do you really want to throw your hard work away, only to probably start from scratch again in a month or two? Think about it. You’ve come this far, let’s not side line your progress… Let us know how you get on either on Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below!
