how-to-have-a-healthy-night-out Ok, so we say ‘healthy’ loosely. Unless it avoids no alcohol and no fatty foods, your night out will always be marginally unhealthy, however by making the right choices you can easily minimise the damage – while still having a good time! OPT FOR THE HEALTHY MEAL We all love a meal out during social events, however filling up on pizza, burgers and chips before the partying commences isn’t going to leave you feeling too fresh later on. Instead, go for a big chicken salad or chicken breast with sweet potato fries to line your stomach. It’s important to remember to eat, as those drinks will disagree with you big time if you don't! DITCH THE COCKTAILS If you’re a cocktail lover this may be a big sacrifice, but swapping sugary, fizzy beverages for healthier options are the best decision you could make to benefit not only your body – but also your head in the morning. Instead of shots, cocktail pitchers and vodka and cokes, try vodka lime soda, gin and tonic or a Bloody Mary. Granted, no alcoholic drink is good for you, but these a far better options that won’t damage your progress too significantly – providing you don’t drink too many of course… WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND If you’ve had one too many, switch to water for the rest of the evening. If you’re feeling a little nauseous or lethargic, another alcoholic drink won’t help, water will. If you’re feeling full to the brim of food and drink, water is the only beverage that is going to help it pass. Sometimes saying “oh go on, I’ll take advantage of happy hour” just to keep you going for an hour or two more isn’t a smart move. You can still enjoy your night with water, as after all, it’s about the company isn't it? AVOID THE POST NIGHT OUT BINGE This is the one downfall that really has the potential to ruin it all. You can begin your night with a healthy meal and stick to the best drink options possible, but heading out for that 2am kebab and chips is what you want to avoid. Do you usually get up and eat a fatty meal in the middle of the night? No, because you don’t need it. Truthfully, all that will benefit you is a big glass of water! Let's face it, life's too short to sacrifice enjoying the things you love, but what do you love more... one boozy night out or the figure you've always dreamed of? Be that person who can juggle a killer body without having to miss out on social events in fear of ruining your hard earned work! how-to-have-a-healthy-night-out-2
