With the revolutionary Bowflex MAX Trainer soon to arrive in the UK - exclusively at Fitness Superstore - Brooke Birmingham, now a US Fitness Blogger after losing 12 stone in weight, tells us why she loves the Bowflex MAX Trainer M5... [caption id="attachment_823" align="alignleft" width="131"]Brooke Birmingham Brooke Birmingham[/caption] When I’m not suffering an ankle injury, I really do enjoy working out. There’s just something about getting sweaty, feeling strong, and gaining energy that is addicting. I’ll be honest though and say that sometimes I get quite bored with my workout DVD routine. Yes, even the Jillian Michaels worshipper in me gets sick of her sometimes. And being in the Midwest we have super cold winters and gross summer heat, so being outside is sometimes the last thing I want to do. What do I do in those moments when I don’t want to press play or get outside? I sit on my couch and knit. Wait…that isn’t always true. 😉 Most of the time I will hop on my Bowflex MAX Trainer M5 to change it up. I haven’t owned a piece of workout equipment until this great machine entered my life after I visited Nautilus (who produce the Bowflex brand) last year. I got to try it out then and fell in love. The lovely people at Bowflex decided that since I fell in love with it while visiting, they sent one to my house! [caption id="attachment_821" align="alignnone" width="600"]Brooke MAX Trainer M5 Me testing out the Bowflex MAX Trainer M5[/caption] Essentially it is an elliptical, but I really feel like the M5 is much more than that! One of the things I love the most about it is the less than 15 minutes Max Interval workout programme. I will admit that it is tough, but I like that I can be done and on my way. HIIT workouts are trendy lately and for good reason! Doing them can help lower your blood pressure, burn more fat, and will be sure you get a great workout done in a short amount of time. Plus that gives me time to then sit on my couch and knit! When I want something a bit longer, I will set up my iPad and watch some video podcasts or Netflix. I keep it going at a steady state and before I know it, I am 30 minutes in. Who doesn’t love knocking out an episode of their favourite show and burning some calories while doing it? I can also challenge myself with the 8 other workout programmes already in the MAX Trainer M5 itself. Some of the other things I love about my M5…
  1. It doesn’t take up a ton of space! Mine sits in the corner of Mr. B’s office perfectly
  2. The display is great
  3. There’s a water bottle holder
  4. There's a place to put your tablet
  5. The ability to sync your workouts with the MAX Trainer app (iOS and Android)
  6. Built in heart rate monitor and chest strap
  7. Mr. B even gets on it and works out!
For my first piece of home gym equipment, I really got spoiled. The MAX Trainer M5 is just perfect for what I need when I don’t feel like my regular forms of activity. It isn’t a dreadmill or an extra clothes rack. Kinda like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the MAX Trainer M5 is just right. The Bowflex MAX Trainer arrives at Fitness Superstore in mid-August. There are two models available - the MAX Trainer M3 and the more advanced MAX Trainer M5. Both feature the 14 minute MAX Interval Workout, while the MAX Trainer M5 offers syncing to the MAX Trainer app. Check out the Bowflex MAX Trainer.
